Easy Wok Cabbage

Updated: Feb 16, 2021

Cabbage is probably the easiest Soul Food side there is. If you don’t have time to prepare Smoked Turkey, Sausage, or Ham-hocks to add in them you can make this really simple Wok Sautéed Cabbage. It still has a great flavor, but in half the time! If you don’t have a Wok, it’s no problem. You can use a large skillet. Have fun and make this in no time at all.

Ingredients

Vegetarian, Gluten free, Paleo (Serves 4-6 people)

Produce

1 Cabbage head

1/4 cup Yellow Onion onion

1 tbsp Minced Garlic

Baking & Spices

2 tsp Salt, more if desired

2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper

2 tsp Garlic Powder

Oil & Vinegars

2 tbsp Canola or Vegetable Oil

1 tbsp Butter

Directions

  1. Cut the Cabbage into 1 to 1 1/2 inch chunks

  2. Heat up Wok on medium high heat and add in Canola or Vegetable Oil.

  3. Add in Yellow Onions and cook until translucent.

  4. Add in cut Cabbage, Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Powder. Stir.

  5. Sauté and stir the cabbage for about 15 minutes. (Tip: If you don’t like your cabbage on the crunchier side cook for another 10 minutes Make sure you to slightly reduce the heat if you are extending the time.)

  6. When the cabbage is almost done add in 1 tbsp of butter. Stir.

  7. Taste the cabbage to make sure it doesn’t need more salt.

Now you have something cooked from the SOUL. Serve it to the CULTURE!
