Greek Tzatziki Sauce

Updated: Feb 16, 2021

Tzatziki is a traditional yogurt based dip or sauce typically found in Mediterranean foods. I love the tangy flavor that it adds to any pita or wrap. This sauce pairs well with my Greek Chicken Pita recipe found in the Let’s Do Lunch section. It’s also a nice appetizer served with warm pita chips. Greek food is at the top of my favorites so I definitely had to share this tasty recipe. I hope you have fun making it. It’s a very simple recipe that you will be enjoying in no time.

Ingredients

Vegetarian (12 servings)

Produce

1/4 Cucumbers, cubed (I prefer English Cucumbers because they have less seeds.)

1/2 bunch, Fresh Dill

1/2 Lemon, squeezed

Baking & Spices

1 tsp Salt (more, if desired)

1 tsp Cracked Black Pepper (more, if desired)

1 tsp Garlic Powder

Oils and Vinegars

2 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Dairy

10 oz Plain Non Fat Greek Yogurt

1/8 cup Feta Cheese, crumbled

Directions

  1. Add 10 ounces of Plain Greek Yogurt to a bowl.

  2. Cut the cucumbers into small cubes. I would suggest leaving out any parts that have too many seeds.

  3. Coarsley chop the dill, leaving Out the stalks.

  4. Add the cubed Cucumber, chopped Dill, 1 tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of Cracked Black Pepper, 1 tsp of Garlic Powder, and 2 tsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the Greek Yogurt.

  5. Stir ingredients all together until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and keep refrigerated until you are ready to serve your guests or add on top my The Cast Iron Chef's Greek Chicken Pita.

Now you have something cooked from the SOUL. Serve it to the CULTURE!
